302 offset

I am going to be putting a 302 and AOD in my '64 this winter. It currently has a 223 with a T98. My question is, how important is offsetting the motor 1.5" to the passenger side? The reason I ask is because most of the aftermarket swap motor mounts are designed to the center the motor. The 223 that is currently in the truck is centered. Also, the truck currently has a 2 piece drive shaft and I am planning on going to a 1 piece. Any issues that I need to look out for other than pinion and crank angle?

Thanks in advance.

Well, the engines are generally offset to the passenger side to allow some room for steering gear on the drivers side......so take that into consideration

And a one piece driveshaft shouldn't be an issue on a SWB truck
