Part number for the choke cap, I got it from page 369 of the parts and illustration guide. In the previous section it has carbs listed by application I looked up my application and it said to look at carb part list # 36 and I went to part list 36 and they had B6A-9848-C listed as the choke thermostat.
If only going by VEHICLE APPLICATION, you need to ensure your carb is from the the origination application. Go by the STAMPING I.D. No. on the carb base.to make sure you get the one calibrated for the carb.

the carb I put on is the same number on the back flange as the one that came with the car that I will be sending to this other guy for restoration later on. List is 1161-2. when its not raining I will double check the part number but the one I have inside with the same list number is a ECZ 9510 M carb but it should be the same as both carbs have the same list number and both carbs have the same dashpot bolt on the throttle arm.
But Service Part List #36 where I got that choke thermostat part number for is listed as fitting B6A-9510-M and B6A-9510-Q both of which were used in all vehicles with a 292/312 engine with a ford-o-matic transmission.
I will double check still how ever to make sure as it seems the B6A-9848-C that I keep seeing might be the same guy selling it cause I see the same photos as from the ebay listing but varying price listings. I thought of just getting one from Concours Parts but I think I much rather get a nos one that is specific and calibrated for this carb itself. I really want the proper groove marking on the choke thermostat so I can follow the choke setting instructions which is to set the choke to index and then fine tune for your region from there.
