Hi folks,
Quick question....
Is an F250 considered a light or medium truck by the factory? ....and could I expect a fair amount of parts compatibility with '83 thru '85 F150's and F250's? (apart from suspension differences) It's a 4.9 six with a C6 transmission.
Thanks, Craig

In order to get to the "medium duty" class by the old system you generally had to get into the Ford F-600 class or equivalent. Now with the Ford's sale of the medium and heavy truck lines the division is a little blurry. I think the modern 650's and 750's are classed as medium duty.
With 250's you have to look at GVW plates or count lugnuts to know if you have a light duty (basically a beefed 1/2 ton) or the heavy framed model with the same rear axle as the 350. I've seen too many people end up with too light a truck for the job because they only looked at the "F-250" emblem on the fender.
