Do you find much improvement in traction with the front locker engaged? How is steering?
I know you directed your question to another poster, but I thought I would share my experiences as well.
I put an Elocker in the front axle of my 06 Super Duty. It worked great though I didnt get the opportunity to use it very much. I regeared so it seemed like a sin to just put an open carrier back in the front axle.
An elocker in the front of a Super Duty is a great option. There is a lot of weight over the front axle - especially with a diesel. I didn't find it hard to turn - even in full circles - if the ground was a bit soft or a little muddy. Frankly I found myself using it most when up in the Sierras with the lance camper loaded on the back. When I approached a rough or rocky section of trail, or a water crossing, I would engage it. Once I got through that spot I would disengage it.
I plan to also put one in the front axle of my 2016 Super Duty.
And "this company" would be .... ???
For goodness sake man, if you're going to tempt us, at least don't leave us hanging!
Sorry all was getting ready for early Christmas yesterday due to travel outside the US. Took half the morning just to write a couple of posts as I kept getting called away from the computer.
They do a lot of speciality work for Ford, when Ford gets a request for something not in their offering, usually DoD or oil companies doing exploration work. They use Ford D 60's for all there aftermarket axle builds.
I’d wait for the aftermarket to catch up. No way I’d bother swapping front and rear ring and pinions to go from 3.55 to 3.73. It’s just not worth it.
Doesn't look like aftermarket will have 4.10's available any time soon, so I'm going to go ahead and have the Eaton Truetrac #915A387 installed in the front of my '18 F350 and wait on the gear change. I contacted Eaton one more time and suggested that they take a second look at the new Super Duties but they unfortunately gave me the same response: Eaton Performance (Eaton Performance Support) Dec 14, 17:37 AST Hello Mark,
Thank you for your interest in this differential application. We currently do not have a part available to fit that specific application at this time.
Thanks,

Just to be clear, your last post is largely referencing the Dana M275 rear axle, correct? Lots of diff options and Dana gearsets exist for the front Dana 60 - including a 4.10 ratio.

Correct, I'm referring to the rear M275 when I referred to a 4.10 ratio.
