changing clutch freeplay

I have a '68F100 w/300 six and 3sp manual tranny with mechanical linkage and the 3finger long style pressure plate. Does freeplay change when the rpm's pick up? When at idle and I press the clutch pedal I have the required freeplay but when I accelerate the motor the freeplay seems to lessen and if I press the pedal only slightly I can feel the release bearing coming into contact with the clutch arms.

Motor mounts and tranny mounts are new and re-torqued.

When the motor twists during acceleration the freeplay will change. Check the bellcrank where the linkage hooks up. Check the bellcrank mounts on the bellhousing and the frame. A slight change in freeplay is normal. Is the clutch pedal binding when you accelerate then try to push the pedal?

No, there is no binding when accelerating it just seems that as the rpms pickup the freeplay goes down. I think I need to increase the freeplay a little more and see how things go.
