Help finding a specific '79 F-100

Cameron just posted a story about a dude trying to find the F-100 his wife was actually born in. He doesn't have much to go on, but it's an interesting story, and stranger things have happened...

How do you flip a truck end over end? How does that happen more than once. Could it be a defect that was never discovered and, hence, never corrected?
