My wife wants a CD player, and the in-dash (cassette) head looks to be a CD controller. So the question is, is there an easy way to install a 6-disk player to the existing radio? Is there a harness cord under the carpet that I can tap?
I'm not talking about aftermarket. This vehicle came with a changer as an option. I want to retrofit that option. Just want to know if the existing harness has a changer cord in the chassis somewhere. That way I don't have to tear my dash apart.
Heh Master P. Contact Crutchfield ! I have the stock cassete head unit and I added a kenwood changer in the middle console. You will have to buy a harness (80-$100) but then you can use your existing controls. I doubt your's has a harness. let me know if you need more info.
Turns out the Ford has it's own proprietary plug settup in the rear of the unit, funky. The Ebay tip from another thread did the trick. For $219, a local Ebayer sold me a 10 disc changer and all adapters. I installed it in 45 minutes, under back seat. Sounds beautiful!
