Great looking truck. I drove mine home in a snow storm and had a big grin the entire way home.
Thanks! The dealer tossed me the keys to take it out for a drive, did not take much arm twisting. It was great to do this, as we had a pile of fresh snow and were still getting nailed with it. I had just driven my Expedition over in four wheel drive to the dealer, so it was good to jump in the new truck and do an immediate comparison as to how it handled and what the Michelin LTX AT2 tires were like. I am not sure yet about those tires in snow and still on the fence as to what I am going to do. I currently run Toyo Open Country AT/ll Extremes on the Expedition and have been very happy with them. The Michelin tires appeared to be quieter, but not sure this is because the truck itself has better soundproofing. We live in the snow belt and other than winter driving, I tow a travel trailer and some of the parks I go into can be dicey for traction on the dirt which can be mud. The Toyo Extremes have been great in those camping situations. Toyo now offers an Open Country AT/ll AW, which is snow rated, but also an all season. This might be a good alternative, the tread is not as aggressive as the Extremes, just not sure what the wear will be like in the warmer weather. Now just hoping everything will align and I pick it up this coming week, just have to figure out the tires. ;-)
I am not one to shy away from admitting when I am wrong. I had been posting some comments on this forum about the lateness of delivery of Super Duty trucks because our "estimated" delivery date had been pushed back 4 days a couple weeks ago. In the end, our truck arrived TODAY at the dealership in Flagstaff, AZ, a day earlier than the original "estimated" date and five days earlier than the 'push back' date. So I'm eating some crow. But hey, it ain't so bad if you put a little salt on it. FYI - the Ford Tracking Site still shows the truck "in transit", so I'm glad my dealer called.
I'll be picking up our truck up at the end of the week after making the 240 mile drive from Tucson to Flagstaff. Here's a shot of it in the dealership's lot. That's snow-capped Mount Agassiz (12,360') in the foreground of the background and the summit of 12,637' Mt. Humphrey's just barely visible to its right in the far background. They are the two tallest peaks in Arizona, volcanic massifs on the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. Gotta thank my dealer for that great shot.
The truck is naked. It is soon to have a LEER camper shell adorning its bed, two sea kayaks riding on top, and a 25' Bigfoot travel trailer hooked up to its tail. I'll post more modest pictures of it when it gets fully "dressed". WE ARE STOKIN'.

Your truck looks really great as well ;-)
If all goes well, I pick mine up tomorrow and then have to bring it back next week to get the tires swapped and rear sway bar installed. I will have more pics after I pick it up. I added a tonneau cover, impact bed mat, and a pivot storage box on the right hand side. Can hardly wait!
