If Julie Newmar came along in her CatWoman costume with that bundle of rope, and looked like she did in 1966, I would still be tied up with her and not posting on this forum.
Julie Newmar is 85 now. She is every bit of the Lola character, in Barry Manilow's Copacabana. Old. Too much make-up. Still going to Comicon, trying to squeeze the last drop of fame from being on BatMan back in the day. Wrinkled. Past her prime. And nobody's fooled. Maybe a couple of comic book nerds might get drunk enough to take out her false teeth, and let her tie them up. She is every bit of the Lola character, in Barry Manilow's Copacabana. "That was 20 years ago, when they used to have a show. Now it's the Disco. But not for Lola. Still in that dress she used to wear, with the faded feathers in her hair. She sits there so refined. She drinks herself half blind. She lost her youth, and she lost her Tony, now she's lost her mind."
Any of you catch me riding around with the Cat Lady; do me a favor, blow dry my perm with a Smith & Wesson.
Happy Holidays from Humboldt! Rosie and I are still doing pretty good up here along the lost coast. Found out a couple weeks ago I'm 'above the cut' for advancement to E-7. We are very excited and shocked to be making it. I thought for sure it'd be another year or so before I made it. So, with the advancement comes another transfer this summer. Hoping I get one of my top two picks... Kodiak, AK or Elizabeth City, NC. We should find out sometime in Jan or Feb... keep you posted on that!
Just got done polishing my yellow glazed foggy headlights. The heavy duty polish kit from Maguires does a pretty good job. I could've used another several grits to really get 'em to shine.. but, for a quick fix, it works good! Monday the truck goes into Les Schwab for new tires. Gonna try something new with the Couragia M/T's. Gonna skip the Costco BFG's this go 'round.. see what happens.
We'll be on the road for about two weeks for the holidays. Rosies brother is getting married in Oakland with a follow-up NYE celebration down in Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park. Sooo... I think it's safe to say we'll add a couple thousand miles on the great white. We'll be in San Diego but I doubt we'll have the time to drive east and say hi to JW!
Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday! We had a tragic death of a spouse at the coast guard base a couple months ago.. and with all the fires in the state.. so much loss and sadness..
needless to say, Rosie and I are thankful to be here and I keep the FTE NorCal chapter in thought all the time.
Best wishes!!

If you can find a clear coat to put on afterward, the clear will last longer. Congrats on the upgrade, and I would vote for the AK post if I had a choice. We've been up there a couple of times and we love the whole state!
Good to hear from ya bd. I just went through a set of couragias in 1 yr./30k mi. They are soft and wear quick...FYI. I went with Toyo M/T this go round....
Thanks for the replies! The polish kit came with a little bottle of sealer/clear coat.. I'm doubtful the polish job will last that long.. but for now, they seem to be shining a little bit brighter. As for the tires, I knew there'd be some drawback to them. I'm shooting from the hip here but I'd guess I drive about 5-6000 miles a year while being stationed here in Humboldt. My commute down 101 is only 6 miles one way. Now that we're looking at a transfer this summer those Couragia's may not last as long as I'd like!
Pouring buckets here and breezy. Wood stove is cranking out heat and the dog is hiding somewhere in the house because she hates the sound of pine cones falling on the roof.
Enjoy the rest and relaxation today!
Cheers!

We are getting a pretty good blow here today too. Giving the south side of the truck a good spit shine.

No doubt. We have a fairly good start. I think we had over 8" of rain in November. I haven't added up all the rain for December yet, but we did get 9/10" yesterday, and almost 1/3" today so far. I think we are done for the next week or so, but I haven't checked this morning.
