I will try to keep this short and to the point. A few years ago I owned a 6.0 2004 F-250. It was a very good truck considering the reputation they have. I went to a 7.3 and now a 3.5 EcoBoost. The EcoBoost just doesn't have the capabilities that I am looking for. I have come across a 2006 1 ton with the 6.0 Powerstroke. It is currently getting the engine rebuilt due to excessive Blow by. It is being assembled with head studs, EGR Delete, upgraded oil cooler screen, intake and exhaust will be put back on it as it was before. I have no idea the condition of the transmission but I have much faith in the 5R110. The truck itself has 168000 miles on it. I have never purchased a truck with this kind of mileage before, and I'm curious as to what to look for that could give me an idea of its condition. With the upgrades to the motor, and it's fresh rebuild from a fairly reputable Builder, I really have no concerns about the engine. But besides normal fluid condition checks, and general appearance I am not sure what to look at. It does have several aftermarket gauges and an SCT tuner, but from the pictures I can't tell what the gauges are or what model the tuner is. Any and all advice would be appreciated, I am ready to get back into the compression ignition world.

EDIT: After reviewing that, the only revision I would make is that ELC is in fact fine.
