That is pretty funny.

Measured out a universal winch tray from harbor freight and it looks like it should fit between the frame rails without to much drama. Need to set a winch in it and see what needs to move to make it work behind the bumper

Also found a bed cap that the dimensions look right so I'm going to be taking a look at that tomorrow. It's silver but that is easily corrected

This is gonna be a cool build! I'd love to build something similar, but would also love to go for a pre-runner build. I just lack time and space for another project.

Years ago I was supposed to build up my Wrangler TJ for an Overlanding excursion from TX to CA, but that never came about.

Even though it's a Chevy, wouldn't mind getting my hands on a CUCV as a good starter template.

My Land Rover LR3 is already pretty well built for Overland, but I wanted to build an American truck for trips. I have had more than a few Fords over the years. 1965 Ford body on a 76 4x4 chassis, a 1996 Ranger and a 1991 Bronco. Ranger is what I had in mind but stumbled across this and decided to give it a go.

The game plan as I see it right now is

Get all the maintenance and wear items taken care of.
New exhaust
Alignment
33" tires thinking Hankook or Falken MT's
Bed cap and some sort of rack set up
Hidden winch
Radio with bluetooth
CB (maybe ham)
Seat and carpet
Plasti-Dip it some to be determined color combo

new shocks what are you guys using off road on these?

Today I fixed some torn up wiring on the TPS. I added the missing bolts on the alternator bracket. Replaced a bad hose on the the Throttle body heater. I also adjusted the fan shroud so it no longer is rubbing on the fan.

I missed out on the truck cap due to the hose on the throttle body heater.

Drove it to work today and enjoyed running around in it. It's fun running through the gears been to long since I had a manual.

Pulled it in the garage tonight to look at the exhaust leak. So on the driver's side manifold every bolt that was there was loose and one cylinder had no bolts holding it to the block.

So I dug through the bin and found a couple bolts and washers. Got the missing part handled and tightened everything up. Sounds better so hopefully tomorrow I will get less stoned on exhaust driving to work.

I am admittedly not a fan of the mud Kings but for now they work. Heck they are a bit noisy around town lol.

Have the day off tomorrow but I have to put in some time on my other truck as the starter has died in it. I think it was feeling unappreciated with all the attention the F150 had been getting from me.
