Shifting issues...
Hey changed the clutch in my 1986 F150 4x4. And it’s started dropping out of gear in 2H and 4H and makes this horrible grinding noise and won’t engage but works perfectly in 4L. I’m just confused and don’t know what’s going on. Anyone run into this? Fixed this?

So you think it is the transfer case? And it didn't do this until after you have pulled the unit out and put it back in for the clutch change?

Did you separate the transfer case and transmission during the clutch job? Or did you remove the two as a unit?
