Wiring Burned up
I hope some one can help me out with some wiring issues. I have a 76 F150 with a/c. the problem is this, someone rigged wiring under the dash and it's all burned up. I have it all figured out except for two things: first, there is a single red wire w/black stripe that hooked up somewhere behind the glove box (I accidently pulled it loose) and I don't know what is it powers. Second, there is some sort of "relay" or something mounted to he bottom of the dash on the pass side that the a/c wiring hooks to (what is this thing and what does it do?). I can't understand why some people rig suff like that and think it will last.
I'm lucky the truck didn't burn to the ground! Thanks in advance for your help!

Looks like the red/black wire goes to the blower motor resistor. You will find this mounted on the air duct somewhere. It will be a bunch of connectors sticking up. On the other side in the duct are the resistors, which give you the high/low speeds. They mount them in the airflow to keep the resistors cool.
I don't know about your relay. I know some of the older vehicles had a relay system in the the fan circuit. This was so if the AC was on, you could not turn off the blower motor. This was to keep the AC system from freezing up. This function was de-activated by the relay when you used the heater. This is just a guess though, on your particular truck.
