New ac defrost thread
Hi guys once again this is another post for the famous ac is only coming out of the defrost problem. Well here we go I’ve gone through the basics to not waste anyone’s time nor mine. So I’ve checked the vacuum lines to see if anything has popped off nothing is loose, the pump turns on runs until vacuum is full then stops so everything’s running fine on it, I replaced the valve for the heater hose the hubs have been converted to manual lock hubs, I’ve bypassed the hub hoses and esof solenoid I’ve replaced the blend door valve all these parts where replaced within the last year. The ac blows cold out of the defrost when I raise the temperature it gets hot so it’s all working just no matter what I press it doesn’t change from defrost does anybody have any ideas ? The only thing I’m thinking is maybe it’s the hvac defrost mode door actuator. Has anybody ever had to change this it’s part number motorcraft yh-1490 if anybody wants to google it ? Any help is appreciated thanks

Just realized today when I put the temperature all the way up to 90 it only blows from the feet but as I slowly bring it down at about 80 it starts blowing out of the vents and can only get it to about 75 once it gets down to 72 it slowly starts blowing out of the defrost again and any lower it goes back to only defrost no vents? By the way guys I live in South Florida and my truck is black.

Some basic info...year of the truck? Dual or single zone HVAC?
Let's assume its dual climate zone and its a 2011-16? There is two of everything in this control system. Check all of it. Then I'd look at the control head.
You could save yourself a bunch of time if you brought it to a good dealer and have them hook it up and read the trouble codes. Might cost you 100 for the hour but think of the time and headache it will save.

2005 f250 Harley Davidson trying to make my last resort a dealer or mechanic , I’ve done the system check on the head unit and no codes came up ? My tuner isn’t giving any codes either?

I think you're on the right track with the diverter actuator.
Problem is I'm not 100% sure if that part is electronic or vacuum? Haven't had the pleasure of working on a 05.
I'd lean towards vacuum is because that's what occurs in the "failsafe" mode, it defaults to defrost.
Recheck ESOF bypass job for a leak.
Find out what part controls and directs the air flow. It likely that part....a bad door control motor(aka diaphragm).
Circle back if you fix it or need more help.
