Deciding I’ll be ordering my truck within the next few weeks.
I know this topic has been discussed to death but I figured I’d get some new opinions. I know they are the same height overall and the 20’s will have less rubber than the 18s
I ditched my 20s for 18" aftermarket because I couldn't stand the jarring ride. I also think it looks beefier with 18s and more rubber. First thought is objective but the second is subjective...
Ask yourself if you plan on ever changing wheels and tires? Leveling Kit? any of that stuff. 20's are nice looking but cost 1000$ I got the cheapest wheels i could knowing they would swapped out for something custom. Just don't spend money twice if you cant help it.
I went with the 20" tires and wheels. They fill the wheel well better and are 1 inch taller than the 18's. For me, it's mainly for highway towing and the occasional dirt road. No plans to change out my rims down the road either......Keeping it pretty much stock.
I can get tires from my Nephew for basically free. But he doesn't have the LT295/65R20 size that I like to run 4080 lbs ( 35.1")
He does stock the 35x12.5R20 which are rated for 3195 lbs (34.65")
and he stocks the LT305/70R18 which are rated for 3750 lbs. (35.08")
So either I spend $1500 to buy tires in the LT295 size or I buy 18" rims and get the LT305 from my nephew. The 35x12.5r20 tires just don't have enough load capacity for what I tow.
I like the 20" wheel and a 35" tire on my truck. I think they fill the fender out nice and have a better look. (my opinion) But they are more expensive and less choices. I don't want to go any taller than a 35" or I won't have clearance for tire chains if I get caught in a bad storm. I lose about 1 mpg when I switch from the stock LT275/65R20 ( 34.1" tires )to the larger LT295.
Consider what you will tow/haul, what load capacity you will need and how important fuel mileage is to you and decide what tire will serve you best.
I live near Buffalo, so I swap out winter/summer wheel/tire sets on both my wife’s truck and mine.
For that reason, I’ll be ordering 18” rubber from Ford, but ditching them in the summer for 20” custom wheels and tires. The savings buys the 20” rubber.
Looks? IMO, The 18” look way too small for the Super Duty.
18" wheel all day every day every time. Better ride (more sidewall), more choices in tires, cheaper tires, can get a 35" tire on an 18" OEM rim, etc etc etc. To each their own, but I'd rather have more tire than wheel every day.

I just upgraded to BFG KO2's. My truck came with 18" wheels. I was considering going to 20" wheels with the tire upgrade. The same tire was about $60 more for the 20" wheel. I stayed with my 18"s...
I went with 18s. Thought the truck looked better. If I decide to upgrade I can get 20 take offs for the same price or less then adding them on, but now I have 2 sets....
