Okay guys, just got word that the cam arrived today, and that’s the final piece. The engine will be back together and on the dyno will be near the end of the week. I wanna hear your guys guesses as to hosepower and torque and at what rpm peak rpm. According to the desktop dyno program, (thanks again mike!) it’s gonna make 298hp around 4500 rpm and 414ft lbs at 3000 rpm, at the wheels. My guess is 280hp at 4800rpm and 406ftlbs and 2600rpm.

Engine checklist
1976 390 block
bored .30 over
forget flat top pistons, roughly 10 to 1 compression
265/262 Lunati Voodoo cam
straight up double roller timing set
stock heads
performer rpm intake
650cfm thunder abs carb
hei distributor
hooker long tube headers + true 2.5in dual exhaust

I look forward to seeing what you guys guess, and comparing it to see how close it is to the actual output, and the desktop dyno program.

DD5 is a little high like 3-4% Torque seems to be more off with FE for some reason .
so dd5 says 351/487
my guess 340/450

yup it’s going on a dyno. I was just going off rear wheel because that’s how it’ll actually feel

Looks good. Last couple FE's I built I polished the timing covers instead of painting them.

Had it on the dyno last week, but didn’t wanna tell you guys until we had it totally dialed.

On 89 octane, it makes 350.5hp at 4700rpm, and 449.6ft lbs of torque at 3300. Surprisingly, the k&n air filter and 4hole carb spacer was good for about 20hp! Photos and videos to come, for whatever reason they won’t upload from my phone... needless to say I’m very happy with the results!
