My new 2007 F150 is a stripped down model, no power windows or locks or cruise and only am/fm radio. No CD. Is there a factory radio/CD unit that will be a drop in swap? I do not want to go aftermarket.
Yea, I think pretty much any non-sync radio from a 2004-2008 f150 should bolt/plug right in. Radios from other years and models would probably work electronically, but i think the mounting brackets did vary between some models. My 2004 radio has a 6 disc changer built in, and I think some models support MP3's on CD.
Aftermarket pros are many . You can get the screen and backup camera. Those units can take a usb thumb drive to listen to music or audio books . I have the six /cd drive but I wish I had the usb input, carrying cds is a pain .Some can hands free your phone .
I have a backup camera for connecting to my big trailers which can't be scooted over by hand . I can put that ball right under hitch . But at this point I 'm to old to install it myself ,I may have someone do it .
I love my old lariat /moon roof/ heated seats auto heat/air full power everything .Now at 197k.
After studying the Crutchfield catalog I have changed my mind in favor of an aftermarket touch screen and the single most important reason is Backup Camera! I can't see a doggone thing, my tailgate is so high.
