1996 Windstar Keyless Entry Problem
My 96 Windstar was purchased used. The Ford dealer did not have the code, procedure or a manual for the keyless entry. I did procure a manual. The code is right where the maual said it would be, taped on the computer module behind the glove box.
The code does not work. the 7/8 & 9/10 keypress does lock the doors and the lighted keys do come on. I have tried the reset procedure and pulled the battery +12 for 20 minutes. Everything on the van works (it is an LX), so I have a hard time condeming the computer. I could have a wiring problem. I really want to fix this. Any ideas short of taking it in to a dealer?
