Replaced driveshaft and have a nasty clicking noise

So I have an 88 and the rubber boot on my driveshaft was ripped so I replaced the driveshaft with a used one and now I have a clicking coming from under the truck whenever I move forward and back (had similar noise with old shaft but now it’s worse) I checked trans fluid was a little low so I topped it off. Was wondering if it’s possible I installed newer driveshaft in wrong or possibly backwards?! I’m lost on what to do at this point looking for some advice
