Parnelli Jones Baja Bronco on display in LA
I didn't even know about Parnelli Jones' vintage racer until a couple months ago, when I randomly stumbled across a model of it. But now it's on display with a bunch of other race cars at the Petersen in Los Angeles. But if you can't make it to the museum in person, there are plenty of great photos here. If you're local, you should try and make it. Since the remodel, the exhibits have really been top notch!

local here hadda PJ bronk.
He moved it to NC.
Just like the sm underhood blue radiater support in nxt 2 last pic of extended article
his has an extensive internal 'reinforcement' frame. It has all kinda lill shock absorbers
(smaller'n stearing stabilizers) all though out the frame. They were tied into the oem bronk ladder frame.
This bronk was not Big Olie, he states it wuz probably support: 'Pre Runner'. Looks like oem bronk till ya look 'underneath'.
This (oem blue) bronk has been back to Baja which is in bout 10 days (every yr). To win/place/show there U need good support (spare
prts, mechanics, fuel, etc) and the (several) prerunner is a necessity.

over kill in my mind...did it allow the rig to bounce back up after flip?
May B it wuz in case of a roll the body panels could B banged out enuff to tear off again 2 service Big Olie?
"intricate work"
yes, since - I've seen plenty of 'exo-skeletons" and some w/limited internal frame supports, even a lill of a combo -but- nuttin like this internal 1.
Agreed, a pic w/pannels off.
Ever run inta "BroncoMatt" in NC (or the 'antique run' @ Baja) - just ask 8^0

No such thing as overkill when you're trying to wind the Baja 1000 overall!
Nowadays they don't even have budgets I'm thinkin'. Budget? What budget? Just throw more money at the truck until we win!
I watched a TV special, or maybe YouTube video about the Bronco sometime back a few months ago and nearly choked when the narrator/host called it Big "Ollie" (like Oliver Hardy), instead of the actual name, pronounced "Oly" (as in, OH-lee) for the Olympia Beer sponsor. Pronounced oh-LIM-pee-ah.
Had to roll my eyes a bit, but I realize not everyone can be as old as me and heard every word in the English language pronounced in it's original form.
Admittedly not a common name, but please... Darn new guy!
