Will the regular gatorback mud flaps with no drill mounting brackets work with a level and 35” tires or will I need the offset brackets to prevent interference? I’m 100% stock now, but when these tires wear out I’d like to level with 35’s on stock 18” wheels. Also for 35x11.5 should I stick with 12” or go 14”. I know the offset is only available in 14” wide. I just don’t want to spend good money now and run into problems later. Thanks in advance!
Hello, with the 14" flaps those are really only needed with very large tires that stick out considerably passed the wheel well.
If you go with the standard set right away with the no drill brackets you can still use the offset brackets down the road. When you install the offset brackets you need to trim the flaps down since the rubber portion of the flap start at the bottom of the fender. This video shows how to mount the flaps to the offset bracket. The slots that would be put in the flaps to mount to the no drill brackets will be trimmed off or the pinch plate will support the flaps across the width of the flap.
With the pics below it shows how some have installed the offset brackets using the no drill brackets. This way you do not have to put any holes in the truck. You will have to level and put the pilot holes in the offset brackets since they are a universal application.
