Help,
My Bronco was running fine, and just died one day. The fuel pump was not going on, so I replaced the FP relay, the EEC power relay, and the fuel pump inside the tank. It still will not go on. I checked the inersia switch, fine. I am not getting 12 volts at the plug for the relays, only about 6. The fuse box is getting 12 volts and all fuses look good.
I am loosing half power somewhere. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I was getting half voltage at the relay plug because the connection on the tank was disconnected. With the connection pluged in, Now I get 12 at the relay plug, but the fuel pump still does not come on.
I connected a bat. directly to the fuel pump connection and the pump came on, so the pump is working. I also jumped the inersia switch wires and the pump did not come on.
Somewhere between the relay and the pump is the problem.
Take your 12 volt jumper wire and put it on the inertia switch and see if it will run. Then put it on the wire coming out of the relay to the inertia switch and see if it will run. A voltmeter can fool you sometimes when you have a marginal connection. It can read good with a meter, but not be good enough to run the pump.
