I have auto lockers in the rear of all three of my vehicles, they are hardly noticeable on the street, they don't push the truck around at all..
Respectfully, if this is so, then the lockers are not working. A locker (Detroit, easy locker, Trutrac etc) will lock the two wheels together despite any rotational differences (like a "spool" or a "lincoln locker") until such point as there is no resistance between the two wheels, then it unlocks. When unlocked, they will allow half a rev or so of difference before relocking. So rounding a corner will by design cause the wheels to chirp, and coming out of a corner your rear driveline will force the vehicle to steer based upon the wound up rear axle. So if you are not feeling any of this, your locker is not working. I have many but never had one that did not exhibit this behavior. This is why ARBs, Toyota elockers, and limited slips are so popular. The Jeep Rubicons, for example, they have selectable lockers. If the Detroits and auto lockers were tolerable, why wouldn't they have them? Because they SUCK on the road. Please do not encourage anyone who is going to daily drive their vehicle or regularly drive it on the road or on snow to buy a Detroit. For offroad, they are fantastic, my current rig has two.

I am fully aware of how an auto locker works, I have installed all 4 of mine, they are all working like they should, there isn't much to go wrong with one. Also a Detroit Truetrac isn't a locker it is a gear driven limited slip.
