Not sure what you're saying. Unless you opt to de-rate a SRW F350, the GVWR will be 11,500 pounds. The High Capacity Trailer Tow Package basically gives you a F350 with F250 badges. I have a 6.7 Powerstroke, the Dana rear axle, overloads, 3" receiver and max front springs. Shoot, my hitch has a 2100 lbs. weight carrying capacity. That is 457 pounds more than my payload! My point is that adding all that real world (and very heavy), quantifiable capability diminishes the capacity on paper since the GVWR is capped at 10,000 pounds to keep an F250 a class 2 vehicle. That payload sticker is not a reflection of what the truck is capable of but does reflect a legal capacity. Truck ratings are a shell game. Ford offers the HCTTP so one can opt to purchase a class 2 truck with class 3 capability. They also allow you to de-rate a F350 to avoid various regulations and fees. Putting a different sticker on a F350 doesn't make it less capable. Assigning a 10,000 pound GVWR to my truck so it fits in a certain market segment doesn't make it less capable either. I would have preferred to purchase an F350 to have both the capability and paper capacity but unfortunately, it wasn't an option. Forced with a decision, I chose capability over capacity.
