I am looking for a convenient place to connect a couple of marker lights that will be mounted near the trailer hitch. I want them to operate when the taillights are on. In the picture below there are a couple plugged connectors. Are these additional trailer wiring connectors. This might be a good spot to connect my lights. Are there any other convenient locations to make the connections.
Is that the passenger side frame rail at the back? I believe it might be the fifth wheel bed plug prep wires, but I would have thought it would be on the other dpsode?
Just took the same photo and was thinking of connecting a few of the LED lights to either an upfitter switch or through on of these for use in reverse. Will be following...
Thanks guys, it is the drivers side. I think that will be my connection point. Just need to go down to Ford for the connectors mate.
As mentioned in another thread about misc. lights and the trailer plugs, you may want to make sure that the truck doesn't think there's a trailer attached because lights are utilizing that source.
I once plugged a lighted receiver hitch cover into the 4 prong on either my 2014 or 2016 F250 and the truck indicated a trailer was there.

There's a Facebook page for 2017+ F250 owners started by one of the members here. Someone had posted that they bought an LED light set for the running board area that would plug into the 4 prong. At first he posted that he plugged it in and it was no problem. His next post wasn't 100% clear to me but it seemed then that the problem did crop up.
This morning I tested the lights using the 6 pin connector shown above in the photo. The lights worked. I started the truck, put it in gear and there was no indication on the screen that a trailer was connected. Maybe it's okay, maybe those 4 led's don't use enough current to trigger the trailer is connected message or to trigger the message there needs to be one of the other wires in the connector connected. Anyway I am going to try it. It's a clean way to do it rather than splicing into a wire somewhere. Those connectors have the male housing plugged into the female housing to keep the dirt out. I am going to Ford today and see if I can get pins for that connector. I think it might be made by Delphi.

Keep us updated. I may someday put LED's around the running boards yet! But then again I probably don't have those plugs available because I've got the 5th wheel prep with the plug inside of the bed.
I just tapped one of those for my reverse lights yesterday. The reverse wire is in the plug with 6 wires feeding it. You do not need a special plug from ford. In the end of the plug there are green rubber plugs for each pin socket. Just pull the plug out with pliers and then install your wire and metripack terminal.
