It's a good thing the hood went up, otherwise that deer might have come through the windshield. That must have been some hit to move the engine back 6"!
Yes,glad the hood went up also. 70mph and I didnt see anything,so I didn't even hit the brakes till after the hit. I was surprised that I didn't really even feel anything just a loud thud, truck didn't even miss a beat and was still running till I shut it off 10minutes later.
Pretty amazing that the engine was still running after being forced backwards!

Until I got finally got out and looked at the damage. It took me awhile to get me head rebooted and figure out what just happened.
It's amazing the difference a few inches and mph make. A few years back I hit a deer with my 2000. I was doing 50 mph and it jumped out of some bushes and right in front of me. It hit flush on the bumper and didn't even leave a scratch. Hate that it did as much damage to yours as it did.
