Oil......

How much oil does a F-100 take? And what kind? I figured 3 quarts of 10-W30......... but im betting im wrong. I checked the oil level when I bought it (friend actualy bought it but woo hoo, saturday) and I looked agian cause I remebered the oil being black. And yup, sure enough it's black. So im going to change the oil and need to know these things. -myers

5 or 6 quarts, i would dump in 5 quarts and then go from there.

Change the filter of course. Use a Motorcraft, Purolator, or Wix filter.

5 or 6 quarts with the filter.

I-6 300 6 quts with filter
small block V8 5 quts with filter

i pour in four first and then warm the engine and pour another quart.

According to the manual:

240 cu in - all except 4wd and F-350 - 5 qts
All others - 6 qts

This is with a new filter
