2004 Expy rear Heat?

My front blows hot enough to melt rubber shoes.. but the rear blow cold long after the vehicle warms up. Maybe of note.. the control to switch it from floor to ceiling doesnt seem to do anything either. It stays on the ceiling. I searched and found an actuator on some of the older Expy's the problem... is that what I should look to on this?

There are two actuators back there - one for floor to ceiling, and one for hot to cold. I'd guess you need to investigate both.

Are you the original owner? Has it ever worked right ? Many owners, after they replace the actuators, unplug them to keep from breaking them again (reach in and plug it in when you go to sell it ....). You can pop the cup holder and tray out of the rear right side quarter panel trim and look in there to see if they're just unplugged, or they need to be replaced again. They fail about every two years or so, that's why they get unplugged. If they're blowing cool air from the overhead vents and you seldom have any rear passengers, I would just leave 'em like that and turn the fan to low speed and regulate the heat with the front vents. Even if you replace the actuators, they'll break again in a few years and you'll be back to the same situation.

Green circled actuator is floor/overhead vents..... Red circled is TEMP control .....

Not the original owner... it blows strong... but cold only out of the ceiling. They dont seem to be all that difficult to change out... are they expensive parts? Do you have part numbers for me to order?

Some people are able to get the temp one done without taking the whole trim panel off, by flexing it a little and working through the cup holder and change tray openings.
