I 'was' looking at a G20 up in Portland but they wanted over 5k and it obviously had a leaky tranny pan, the window switches were loose as was the doghouse glove box extrusion.
Lol "possum van"
Although I must say from the ones I've seen on YouTube once the doghouse is off the motor seems easily worked on, given Chevy's penchant of later years to mount the engines further aft than in previous versions.
After living for a week borrowing a daily driver from Gary's shop, my wife and I are headed back to Portland to look at another E150 (dark blue) from a dealer with a better rep. But 290k on the clock which explains the lesser cost. After I pretrip and test drive it I may decide on the one I test drove a couple of weeks ago with100k lesser miles but for another $1900. Comments? I'm having to follow the idiom Beggars can't be choosers on this one, but it seems a dam sight better than that evil Suburban I got rid of last week.
I must say one of the decisive factors in choosing an E van was all of the friendly people, the help and support I've received right here in this forum.
Well I think I'm going to take the plunge on that high milage '98. The engine compartment is clean, no leaks, belt and fluids good. Clean interior shifts sharp, steering spot on even under hard braking. Save for the milage, I cannot find thing one wrong with it. Mind you I am a commercial driver and know much, perhaps not all, but I'm feeling pretty good about this
