I replaced the link ends' bushings on my 93 Aerostar and noticed a significant improvement on the handling. However, the swaybar-to-frame bushings are also quite worn out and also must be replaced. The repair manual says to "lubricate" this bushing prior to installation. Now, the fifteen-dollar question is: "lubricate" with what? The manual never says!!!! Since the part is rubber, bearing grease is out of the question. What does that leave us with? Can anyone help? The only thing I can think of is the white silicone grease we put on the rubber bushings that go on the wiper linkages. Would one of you please help clear this up?
A bit off topic, but has anyone tried a poly bushing for their front sway bar? Mine are getting to the worn-out point and thought this could give a little less plow. Also, what's the diameter of stock sway bars?
