ImI running the Advanced Auto ones in my Blue truck. They where a up grade over the gold cause I had so many problems with them. There AGM have been great. Eve after the truck sat for 2 months not running and the phone chargers plugged in, they only took a half hour to shut the auto charger off. They always continue to test excellent too. If you want AGM batteries I would def recommend them.
I'm running the Northstar AGM's in mine. They can be found for 250 give or take 20 bucks or so. That X2 looks suspiciously like the NSB-65. Specs out the same.
Recommendations? It's a daily driver so do I need to put a charger/maintainer on it?
I'm using a CTEK 4.3 on the truck, and I also bought an Odyssey Extreme for my TJ Rubicon so use it for that as well. Even tying it to a pair of those batts, it doesn't take all that long to go into Float mode...
IMHO, it would be plenty for your DD, when you might not drive it for a bit....

I found an old thread that somebody claimed to have it confirmed by Northstar employees that they are the same.

So you have this installed full time on one battery and plug it in when parked?

Nope, I have a plug on the TJ, but I use standard clamps on the truck, and as Y2K joked (but I take it seriously) I switch from one batt to the other as to which is closer to the charger....

Does it come back on in the same mode each time after you select it, or do you need to select the mode each time it's plugged in? I have a setup already that I could tie it into a plug that I already use for my battery pad heaters so it could be a semi permanent install. Just wouldn't want to do that if I have to pop the hood and select the mode each time anyway. Also, if I run this, would the battery pad heaters even be helpful in extreme cold?

Yes it comes up in the mode last selected. CTEK has their "own" plug end, so since I have a number of vehicles with standard SAE 2 pin plugs, I just bought the converter that one end is the CTEK style plug and the other is standard 2 pin (I had to do the same thing for my Noco Genius charger too, and it has yet another type of plug end).
It sounds like you'd mount the CTEK on the truck then? Not sure how weather proof this unit is... Jack answered your battery heater Q...
I got them at Batteries Plus. 10% discount for online order and in store pickup. I looked at the Odyssey but they were significantly higher up here and the 5 year warranty is nice on these. Never thought I'd spend this much on batteries but after paying attention to them and having the second set of Interstates from Costco not make it 2 years, I'm just going for it. I have the cable upgrades on my rig and 200amp alternator also.
Well , if it were me , I’d get the Interstates from Costco , every four years you take them in for brand new ones , my truck can’t be down for a minute , if something does go south Costco is close , instead of waiting for Internet Warrantee .we also have a Ag supply that sells Interstate and both places are well stocked.
edit just noticed you already did the Costco batts , don’t know why , I’ve had good results from Interstate but not the Costco Kirkland brand they use to leak
