Oil change cost

What are you guys paying for a synthetic oil change? My ford dealer quoted me $330 for “the works” service with synthetic oil. That seems really high to me

Many of us do it ourselves. $14 for the Motorcraft filter and $13 a gallon for Rotella T6 5W40 after the current $7 a gallon rebate. So, about $65 all in, delivered from Amazon.

The high side for DIY is right around a C note. Add 75 when doing fuel filters.

Works out to be 100.00 for a DIY and 175.00 for DIY with fuel filters.

I can get "The Works" done at my dealer for $110. Which is normal oil change and tire rotation. Synthetic is extra. But not a $220 extra.

Also every 5th oil change is free.

I still do all my own during reasonable weather. I'm not going to crawl under my truck in a driveway filled with icy slush. And I don't change the oil in my garage, I've had too many spills to gamble on a mess on my garage floor

Go to Wal Mart with your oil and filter. They charge about $20 for the labor after credits for the oil and filter on their standard oil change. Total cost would be less than $100 with you buying full synthetic oil and Motorcraft filter. Even less if there are rebates on your brand of oil.

Would suggest that if you plan on supplying the oil regardless of the facility you plan on using, you take the exact amount needed. You would need to get a one quart oil bottle and fill it with your choice for oil. Then you can carry it with 3 one gallon containers of your brand of oil.

I get mine done at the dealer for around $200. I am friends with parts guy so I get a deal. You can also purchase your own oil and ford will still change it for the $29 quick lane service.

Many on here are using full synthetic verses a blend or straight dino. That is the reason your oil change is cheaper since you are probably using straight dino oil..

My local Ford dealer charges me $39 for the works service when I provide the oil and filter. I buy Rotella T6 and the Motorcraft filter from Wal-mart ( $20 ). Total $100, so $139 total. $330 is nuts.

$330 does seem a bit high. Did they tell you what they are doing? What are they considering "the works"? Have you received the DEF 500 or 200 mile warning? If they are doing 2 jugs of DEF, Synthetic Oil change, Fuel Filters, Air Filter, Rotating the Tires and I would imagine all other fluid checks it's probably close to $330.
