Today I pulled a 390 4V out of a 1966 Thunderbird. I'll start tearing it apart soon. If it's good, I'll have the block machined, and then build it this winter. Now I gotta find a truck to stab it into
Yeah, it's a beautiful car. Body is remarkably good. Minimum rust in floorboards. But it was purchased for interior parts that will be fitted to a '56 Vic. Those T Birds were gorgeous, but in my opinion, Junk. Unibody car. I don't like em.

You sure it's a 390? 1966 Thunderbird also available with 428.
If the A/T is MX Cruise-O, it originally came w/a 390. If it's a C6, it originally came w/a 428.

A 428 would raise the importance of this acquisition. You can't just bore a 390 to make a 428 though some disreputable eBayers do just that. The 390 cylinder walls are just too thin. Good, usable 428s are getting to be as scarce as hen's teeth.
