So i have an 86 f250 6.9L deisel that I'm having a few problems and I'm needing some insight. My problem is I think my fuel pump went out but I'm not sure. Because I'm not getting fuel to anything. Ive tried bleeding the fuel system and there's no air or water in the system. But when I crank it. It wont start. And if it decides to actually start it doesnt run for very long. I thought about putting am inline pump in but I am not sure. Any advice or insight would be a huge help and greatly appreciated
That shrader valve was letting out bubbley fuel but now let's out air and before it quit starting it would blow that stinky white smoke for a sec when it started or put your foot on that fas

Well, air is bad. Unscrew the fuel filter. It is probably empty or only half full of fuel. You can manually fill the filter up with fuel to help it start, but that still is not addressing the real problem. You do apparently have a fuel problem. How much fuel is in the tank? These diesels had a large plastic pickup in the tank they call the "shower head". These like to break off when they get old, and if you are less than 1/4 of a tank, it will not pick up the fuel in the tank.
If you just want to see if you can get it running and if the fuel pump is good, you can take the hose off the fuel pump that goes to the line on the frame, put a long hose on it and stick it in a diesel can full of diesel. See if it will run like that. If it does, you know your fuel pump is good and you have a problem back at the tank or the lines going to the tank.
