bronco/f150 frame

9/25 12:35a
i am curious, does an '88 bronco have the same frame as an '88 F150 short wheel base? they look an awful lot alike. i am new to the whole truck scene, but i know a '79-'93 mustang like the back of my hand! thanx for any help!

I believe that they are very close in relationship since they use the same front end and the proceedures for repair are almost identical.....check with the specs on both the f 150 and the bronco.

Do you have project in mind? Swapping of some kind?

If so, someone here can probably also answer your question.

Feel free to ask more.

i am not sure, but i think it will be about a foot difference in length. i had friends do this swap with their gm products, one guy cut the front off a box and welded it back together. another guy used the blazer back and welded box front on. the pickup cab needed all new mounts in the back side. but i honestly never looked at the ford equivalent , not that there is one...lol. where i grew up i was the out cast driving beat up red fords pulled out of farm fields

The bronco and half ton F series are exactly the same when it comes to headers. They are the same exact vehicle to the B pillar.

i have a rebuilt 302 with gt-40p heads. i want to put in my 88 full size bronco, but headers are an issue with these heads. i think about any shorty header for the 'p' heads will work. i don't have a y -pipe or cat converters. so if they will clear the frame, i'm good to go!
