4x4 Vibration Issues
4x4 Vibration Issues
Hey there,
So here in Western Canada we were walloped with 40 cm (16 inches) of heavy wet snow today, and I figured it was a good time to take the 77 F150 4x4 out in order to get to work. However, I noticed a horrible vibration from the front of the truck. It only happens between 20 and 25 mph, and is noticeable when the truck is coasting, as in I don’t have my foot on the gas, and most noticeable when riding the clutch (yikes!) during these speeds. It is a quite severe vibration, and I’m just wondering where it may be coming from, it almost feels like the “warning” vibrations carved into the pavement coming up to a rural stop sign. It doesn’t appear when the truck is in 2wd, and it isn’t from the steering linkage, as the drag link and tie rods were just changed and the wheels aligned. The transfer case has been leaking recently, could it be low oil? Let me know what you think. Thanks.
