Sorry y’all, I’m new to Fords and their vacuum systems.
What is this? The grey hose keeps coming disconnected and when it does, my auto climate control blows out the defrost when trying to blow out the foot vents. I know the black part behind it is part of the EVAP system. It’s the one in the center of the picture I’m asking about.
I believe it stops coolant from entering the heater core when you put it in Max AC. It's a vacuum valve, so that would make sense that it would affect the HVAC system
I just noticed my AC was acting strange today and I know it’s all run on vacuum. Opened the hood and saw that hose dangling so I hooked it back up. Voila, it fixed it. I just wanted to know if I should expect any other symptoms.
It's a vacuum operated shutoff valve for the heater core that turns on when max a/c is turned on. Fords vacuum system is designed in the event of a vacuum leak to devert to defrost mode. That's why when that grey line falls off the system goes to defrost, go to a auto parts store and buy a new rubber end and replace it.

So no damage could have occurred while it was off, even though I was running max ac, correct? Oddly enough, even though the line was off, it only went to the defrost when the auto climate control tried to put through the foot vents or I manually selected the foot vents.
Tennessee heat, woof. It’s October, come on FALL!!
