Show off your shop or garage!!

Glad you caught that 4 inch pipe and put it in at the right time. Reminds me that my cement crew forgot a rebar in front of one garage door and luckily got it set in the wet cement in time!
At least you have heat! I have a wall mount heater that I can warm my hands with. Doesn't even start to heat my shop. So temps are around freezing in there right now. Hope to get some insulation put in by a crew starting this Friday hopefully, and They plan to complete that on Monday.
We are working to get things (junk) moved around to be ready and out of their way. Also clean up, and finishing electrical wiring in some areas too. Maybe after the insulation I can get some heat?
Regards,
Chris

Folks,
Brief shop update:
Insulation went in at end of Feb 2021. What a difference in the look of the inside! This is in the loft
R38 in rafters, R19 in outside walls R13 filled inside walls:
My interior horizontal girts were a challange for the crew to work the insulation between:
Door guys came back and lowered the mechanism 1 inch to get the cieling panels and trim in place:
Trim work started for liner panels:
My WD45 Allis Chalmers in the shop. New 9 x 8 overhead door installed in zone 1.
Walk doors installed in interior:
Utility room/ bath room. gets boiler installed in March: :Lochinvar Nobel unit with domestic hot water too.
two weeks ago the cieling crew arrived and started putting up the liner panels in the high bay area. I had put up all the F&J channel around the room.
Door tracks follow the 3/12 inside roof pitch:
10 inch flat area in center of peak will have two ceiling fans
Triming out the other two rooms on the first level. Crew will be here Tuesday to begin the low bay room ceilings:
Oh yes the heat in the floor is VERY nice! 64 degrees in zone 1, 61 degrees in the rest of the building.
Regards,
Chris

Very nice indeed! This summer will be ground breaking for my shop/garage ... I live in Alaska and anyone who DOESN'T plan on radiant heat for their shop is just plumb crazy or cheap! I've also heard the same adage about planning for what's a practical size and then build larger, if you can afford it. But then what happens is you end of storing more junk and then you don't have room for your vehicles. I told my wife that she doesn't get to store anything in the shop and she said that I had better plan on living in the garage. I told her I'd make it a little bigger for storage ...

If I were planning on more room for the Mrs's storage I'd consider a separate outside door to that space, enclose it to establish a boundary of sorts. I'd also consider an inside passage door BUT with a bolt on your side of the garage!

Squirrel,
That is the way my 2009 fit in my house garage too. Then I got too much junk to get it in inside. Your very neat and organized! I am not! Nice Truck you have! Lot of white trucks out there now! Thanks for the pictures! You can do a lot in a garage like that too.
I have spent the last couple of days working on my Ford in the new shop. It was a mess. Washed it, then cleaned interior, changed to summer tires and rims. Have some body work surface rust to get after today! I want to get fluid film under the truck this week.
For now, I have room to get it inside and do some things. They way I work it will also get full and will have to park outside! All the other bays are full of old tractor toys!
I did some of my work outside on the cement pad also, when the weather was good. Must say I am gertting spoiled with 64F inside when its 45 and dismal out side!
Also working on a built in hand sink for the utility room: This is custome from inside a sheet of gold plated 3/4 inch marine glue plywood:
Start with a used sink (which fits right in because all the seals need replaced)
I am not a wood worker, more of a wood butcher:
Framed up the general shape of the vanity:

By the way I did get the head installed! So nice to have this in the shop too!
We did get all the ceiling panels in place. I ordered the white liner panels for the bottom inside (34 inches high)
Also ordered the rough cut hemlock ship lap material for all the upper inside wall coverings. That should take me to late June!

Chris
