sync 3 and mud flap question

sync 3 and mud flap question
I'm having trouble getting back to the main sync 3 screen when my iPhone is connected and I'm using an app like Waze. About the only way I've found it to work is to disconnect the USB, seems there has to be a better way.
Also got OEM front mud flaps installed by dealer and noticed that if you build the truck and choose mud flaps you must also include power running boards. I have the fixed extended running boards and the flaps don't seem to interfere but wonder why you can't choose them in the build.
