Advice

hi So I have a 06 f350 4x4 manual dually and I had to have a new engine put in it. I took it to a shop and the mechanic found me a new engine out of an 06 E350 and I’m assuming it was an auto.. so I get the truck back make it about 30miles and I start hearing some grinding then my transmission locked up and snapped my drive shaft and locked my transmission. If anyone could give me some advice on if they think the mechanic could have messed something or if it’s just a bad coincidence it would be greatly appreciated

I wonder if he installed the torque converter dry? As in his didn’t fill it with trans fluid before installing the transmission?

When they pull an engine from the transmission do they have to drain the tranny to do it ? Cuz if so I would be that’s what they did
