How to “Deconvert” a Conversion Van
So I have decided to “deconvert” my van. It is going to be a long and expensive process, but I like it too much to let it go. It is in such good mechanical condition for being 20 years old. It runs and drives so much better than most other vans I’ve had a chance to drive.
No, I’m not going to just replace it. No I don’t care it’s old. Yes I know it’s a huge task.
Here is what I would like to finish with, less the cheap wheelcovers. As you all know I was successful in installing dual piston front brakes with 11” rotors and a whole new freshly built 8.8 with a 3.55 Traction Lok and rear discs. I have a whole list of projects to share. I will be getting rid of the conversion junk, and then putting in a stock wagon interior.

Are you going to try and install the same window type as the "here's what I want it to look like" van you pictured on the first post? I have always contemplated doing the same with my TV top conversion van but only because I like the windows to be flush on the bottom... and that's really it. I'm a designer by trade so I nitpick over stuff like this. I've never actually looked fully into it because I know it is a little ridiculous but would love to know if you plan on it and what it would entail.

Yes. I want to change the side windows to the stock wagon windows. I have the both sides of a 2007 E350 wagon that is the donor. I will be drilling out the spot welds and separating the inner and outer skins. Then I will remove the windows in my truck and use what I need to fix the damage caused by the conversion company. I will acquire tinted privacy glass to go into the side windows.

It sounds like 98Econoline150 is doing it right by having access to the donor panels. I can't wait to see more of the progress.
