Installing Ford Remote Starter

Has anyone installed their own Ford Remote Starter/Keyless Entry (System 2, Silver) on the Super Duty trucks? Is it as easy as installing an electric brake controller, or is there allot of wire splicing needed? How good are the instructions that come with it?
I've seen the Ford Silver System 2 online for approx. $250, which is about half of what it would cost to have a Ford dealer install it.

Thanks for any advice,
Nick

It takes typically about 7 hours for an average skilled tech first time through. Lots and lots of splices. Instructions are average.

I did the Gold system. This is not what I do for a living, but I do have pretty good technical skills. If you have any doubts about your abilities in this area, you probably don't want to tackle it. If you enjoy that sort of thing, then go for it; just don't expect to save any money (assuming your time is worth more than minimum wage). First time through is going to be slow!
