Rear window explosion

Any ideas on how this happened? Only clue is that defrost was on. 2004 aviator. Also would a navigator tailgate bolt directly on? Id like to completely avoid this again and I know where one is that even matches my cars paint.

May have had a small crack or imperfection that expanded and just finally gave way.

And no, a Navigator tailgate will not bolt on. The Navigator is based off the larger Expedition. The Aviator is based off the Explorer.
