Hey Mcbrine,
Welcome Aboard!
We've also got a '50 F1. Post some pics & let's see what you
are working with. Unfortunately our's is lower but we went the Mustang II IFS route
up front... not cheap or easy. We got the rear end lower to match the front by replacing the
axle with a salvage yard Explorer 8.8 in axle. We also had to flip the springs.

There are a lot of different approaches. There is a guy named Sid who "reworks"
the stock front axles to lower them. (You can do a search). Other's will come
by to help with your question on springs.

Of all the IFS installs, the Jag IFS is probably the cheapest.
You can soft mount the IFS - brackets are fairly easy to make. The soft mount will lower the front somewhat but will give you a good ride, power steering, and disk brakes.

You can weld in the Jag IFS and lower the front even more. Dave - you can jump in and tell us how low weld in IFS gives you.

Just a thought.
Thanks
Dan

New springs can lower ti a bit not sure by how much. There are shops that can bend the axle, but I'd be sure of the shops' ability to do the bend if you go that route. The rear you can remove some leafs to lower it, or loosen one side of the rear shackle, then turn it up til you get the drop you want then weld it to the frame. Just some suggestions I've seen done to lower these trucks.

Replacing your springs with Posie’s Dual Flex springs in the front and Super Slide in the rear will lower your truck about 2 ½ inches. Here is my ‘50 F2:
