On my first toyhauler vacation with my 2017 F350 CC LB (my first diesel). Got it at 18,000 miles. First time I have loved a vehicle! At 24k miles the check engine light came on. Only code was P2002, issue with particulate filter. Day and a half later, two states and two dealers, I now have a new diesel particulate filter, fortunately covered under warranty and described in a Tsb 17-0055. I was planning to get the ESP package after this trip if I was happy with the truck. So far I am except for the DPF. I was told that this repair could cost $3000 + out of warranty. I could use some insight into my decision to keep the truck long term:
1). In looking at the top end ESP, I don't see any coverage for the DPF or the cat converter. Is that correct?
2) The TSB indicates this was a faulty filter for a range of assembly dates. Anybody know what the problem was?
3) should I be wary of any other issues related to this problem.
