Need PN and parts source recomendations, 1978 F700
I bought a dump truck that is in need of a lot of TLC. One of the first things I want to fix is the passenger side outside door handle so I can get inside the cab from that side of the truck.
The local dealer doesn't have any information on this truck, I don't know if it's because of age or size. I found the LMC Truck site but their parts catalogs only go up to F350, and I don't have any history with Ford products to be able to know if the light truck body parts in the late 70's are interchangeable with the large truck body parts.
Any recommendations on a source of information and body parts for a 78 F700?
Thanks

You will have to determine what has broken. The parts are obsolete, but are available NOS .. see pic...

See 262A32 in pic. This is a nylon window roller, it attaches to the window regulator (23200), then into the window channel (21458) the glass is adhered to.
The roller breaks, the window either binds up or falls down to the bottom of the door.

Do you have the yellow handle on the dash for parking brake/
Do the brakes work, parking brake hold?
Lucas Girling brakes; Good brakes, and they ought to be, as they cost good money to work on. They are a known commodity if you find the right links and suppliers, so don't be afraid to jump on anything brake related if you detect an issue.

When you mention yellow handle on dash are you referring to airbrake type control? If so this truck does not have airbrakes. Parking brake lever is center of cab floor mounted and actual brake is mounted to rear of transmission and brakes the drive shaft.
The brakes do work but I noticed that the plastic housing that should cover atmospheric air valve (on bottom of frame mounted vacuum brake booster) is broken open so every time air valve on the vacuum booster opens it is drawing dusty/dirty air from under truck instead of drawing air from in cab behind driver seat.
