That is what I am thinking, I am going togo through the AFB carb i have. I am thinking about sending out the 600 Holley I have to BIGS they are really good with calibratin and reblueprinting the whole fuel curve and flow characteristics. Hey I have a question for oyu 78Fod100. I just ordered a new exhaust manifold for my 300, it is an 86 manifold. The exhaust pipe I want to connect to it is from a 78 F150. Are the flanges the same on the 78 manifold as the 86 manifold? I know they call out the same manifold from 77-84, then they changed the manifold to support the 02 sensor. Did they keep the flange the same? I am using the 78 downpipe cause it is the cheapest, and I figure it would fit under a 86 F150 with out much problems.

The '78 exhaust pipe will not work with your '86 manifold without modifications. The '78 pipe requires a dougnut or gasket and the '86 has it built into the casting. I don't know about clearance issues between the different vintage trucks.
