Any one up for a friendly competition to see who can get the highest DTE??? May have to split it up to different categories to be fair. Mine is a diesel long bed. Best I could get with an average of 17.3 mpg over 1,000 miles and a 100% full tank. Oddly enough, I could get a higher DTE in 'towing' mode instead of 'normal', I'm not exactly sure what is going on there.
Toymaster, you beat me on DTE but i call you on MPG's
.
Show me 27 mpg over many more miles and I'll be more impressed. Fill 'er up when she is that way and you may win your category.
I can reset mine at the top of a mountain and get close to 30 till i get to the bottom of it. On the West side of South Pass we got over 60 miles of downhill. My 17.4 is over thirteen hundred miles of commuting at 70mph and the motor is not broke in yet. You really can't call 'em highway miles as my entire route is over secondary roads, There ain't no highway on the West side of Wyoming.
kd2dwj, i have one of those "unicorn" trucks that people talk about.
Actually, toymaster is on to me. That mileage is an 80 mile run i make quite often. It is a two lane mountain road (Hwy 32) starting at 5000 ft going down to 400 ft. Anybody familiar with northern CA it is from Lake Almanor to Chico. I only have 2700 miles on my truck so far but have had fun watched the mileage increase as the truck wears in.
Well, this is the way it looked at the end of my trip. No fuel was added. I paid $2.85/gal, and was able to drive right by all the stations that were charging $3.75-$4/gal.
This is probably the best one I can offer for our "old" 2017 F350 CCSB 4x2 6.2 gasser 3.73 with the "34" gallon tank. This pic was taken last November after a lightly-loaded round-trip run from Newport, TN to White House (Nashville) and back:
