Code P2096
Hey everyone, I have a 2011 Expedition (5.4 3V) 99,xxx miles.
About a month ago a CEL code popped up. (Code P2096 stands for Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1) Did some google research and came across a ton of possibilities of why I’m seeing this code. One guy said could be bad gas. Which actually made sense because that tank was some crap USA gas station 87oct fuel. I normally fill up with top tier 87oct. So I let the tank run out, filled it up with 91 Shell and the CEL light went off about 30 miles later. The car runs great. Smooth idle, normal power etc... Just last night the light came back on. Come to find out my wife has been filling up with local Vons grocery store gas.
Could this be the problem again? Or am I looking at something else? Any thoughts on what I should try next?
