I have a '17 F250 SD SC SB 4X4 in Bright Red. We had a hail storm come through last weekend while I was out of town. While my side of town didn't get it nearly as bad as the other side, my truck now has a few nickle-quarter sized dents in the hood. I don't see anything in the bed or other panels and the glass was not damaged. I took it to my Ford Dealer Body Shop and had an estimate done. Total estimate was about $720 for Paintless Dent Removal for the hail dents, they also found some additional dents not visible to the naked eye in normal conditions. I have read good things about this process, but want to get some feedback from those who have had it done, especially to Aluminum trucks. I would attach pics of the hail, however, when I take them it is very hard to see where the dents are.
Please let me know your experience with PDR on the Aluminum Superduty
Do a quick search for 'hail' limited to this sub-forum (2017+). There is a recent thread with lots of good info/first hand accounts of having hail damage repaired on aluminum Super Duty trucks. Sounds like you got lucky with only a few dings. Some of the trucks in the thread I'm referring to weren't so lucky.
As long as the dents arent big enough to crease the metal and crack the paint, they can be removed and you will never know they were there. Nothing to worry about, just take it in and let them do their thing. Your truck will come back looking brand new.
